Top-Mount Freezers
Top-mount refrigerators, place the freezer at eye level and the refrigerated food compartment below are the traditional style. Most top-mount refrigerator/freezer units range from 3.5 to 7.5 cubic feet of freezer space. An average 21.7 cubic foot unit has 6.35 cubic feet of freezer space and measures 67H x33W x32D
Side-by-Side Units
The typical side-by-side refrigerator measures between 30 and 36 inches in width, 67 and 70 inches in height, and from 29 to 35 inches in depth. Total volume ranges from 22.5 to 31 cubic feet, with 7.5 to 10 cubic feet in the freezer portion. Built-in models may prove a little larger.
Check the tag inside your unit’s door for the exact amount of cubic feet you have.
Beef Package Space Needs:
- The Quarter Beef Package takes up half of a small chest freezer, or 25% of a small upright freezer, approximately 4-5 cubic feet.
- The Half Beef Package takes up to 50% of a large upright freezer, approximately 8-9 cubic feet
- The Whole Beef Package will take up almost all of a large upright freezer approximately 17-20 cubic feet.
